The Perch was designed with an intention of creating a unique vocabulary as a light weight Birch themed Wine & Coffee bar. White walls and real wood, kept as simple as a Scandinavian summer house sets the tone for Perch. The 1900 sq ft bar cum cafe is spread over two floors. The lower level has a couple of community tables with high chairs. The level above, with a part terrace, has low chairs and sofas. Visitors enter through a charming gate into a double height minimalist space spanned by a full grown Ficus panda tree at the center.
The space is adorned by Light wood furniture set off against stark whitewashed walls with a sprinkling of terrariums and potted plants that gives it all the colour it needs. Combined with the theme of Indie music, straight lined keekar furniture, and natural light from the adjacent terrace provides a new dimension to the place and adds to the contemporary ambience. Working on a sequence of spaces and the use of greens meshed with the white impressions saturates the space with freshness and adds to the features of the bar. The basic light fixtures fabricate over the white walls to retain the energy throughout the day and keeps the aura intact.
Wooden flooring and bricks from the previous cafe were upcycled and used in the interiors of the cafe. Minimal use of textures and colours keep the vibrancy suspended. The combination of whitewashed rubble and neat white plaster creates a light airy atmosphere and amplifies the compositions of different shades and textures of wood from the furniture and the flooring. Minimum visual barriers are used and extended visuals are created with distinctive elements such as the tree sprawling over the double height, the bar adorned with over 30 wines, art works & photographs with openings looking over trees outside.
